Performance of the Day – Opawa Kirk
Another display of powerhouse chasing gives him back to back, Performances of the Day.
Over the past decade only two NZ bred chasers have won our Grp. 1 Auckland Cup, Thrilling Butcha in 2014 and Bigtime Kinvara in 2012. With this year’s cup heats just 4 weeks away, he is making his mark to become another NZ bred chaser to be victorious. This season the final carry’s stake money of $80,000.00.
Congratulations once again to his trainer Glennis Farrell and the Opawa Racing team.

Performance of the Day – WILD KIWI
Race caller Aaron White’s commentary says it all.
“Wild Kiwi does what Wild Kiwi does and wins another.”
Congratulations to trainers Jared Udy and Neisy Cottam and proud owners the Dinny Syndicate.
Wild Kiwi is a son of Magic Sprite and the bonny race bitch and super producer Kiwi Girl.

Performance of the Day – GO AHEAD CALLER
His win by a six and a half length margin in 18.40secs. gives the C2 chaser Go Ahead Caller, yesterday’s Performance of the Day. His time eclipsed by the narrowest margin the times recorded by the higher graded sprinters who competed later in the programme.
A continuation of this form and a rise in grades could see him taking his place in the Group 1 Railway Sprint heats on February 27th together with his classy litter mates, Wheels On Fire and You Ready Boots. Their dam is the 32 race winning Just One Smile, who won the Railway Final in 2019.
Congratulations to trainers Tracey & Lisa Craik and owners The Katcha Jordana Syndicate.

Performance of the Day 3rd January – OPAWA KIRK
Coming from a midfield position this up and coming son of Fernando Bale and Opawa Racer finished in very determined fashion to narrowly down his kennel mate on the line in the C3/4 Mt. Wellington TAB Skates over 527m.
Just turning two years of age and with 10 podium finishes from just 14 starts he has a great future ahead. Congratulations to his trainer Glennis Farrell and owner/breeders Opawa Racing.
