Performance of the Day – SOLDIER BLUE
After dwelling slightly at the start Soldier Blue speared through a mid-field gap to lead the field at the first turn. Turning on the power, he extended through both the mid and final sections of the race, leaving his nearest rival five lengths astern. Although just C1 assessed his performance was the easily BOD over the 527m trip. Congratulations to Tom Patton and the K1W1 Syndicate.

Bouquet of the Day – KATCHA FIRE
Enjoying all the home comforts with the other retirees at the Craik household is a now ten year old light brindle bitch Katcha Fire. On the track she won 10 races from 49 starts before retiring to the breeding pen. Otaki River’s BOD 18.39secs. win today was the 150th for her progeny. A daughter of Just the Best and Reba Keroma, her winners include; Ti Amo, Danish Delight, Amorini, Heart Shaped Box, Baseline and Your Valentine.
All of her progeny have been whelped, reared and trained by the Craik family. Congratulations to Ben, Barbara, Lisa and Tracey, to her connections the Katcha Jordana Syndicate and the super Mum, Katcha Fire.

Performance of the Day – THRILLING FERN
Determination when producing a meritorious 35.55secs. on a dead track, gave Thrilling Fern the Performance of the Day. For the daughter of Barcia Bale and My Girl Chloe it was just her second attempt and first win over the 603m trip.
Although nearing 30 months of age she has raced just 18 times. Today’s run indicates she has a promising staying career ahead of her. Congratulations to her trainer Karen Walsh and owner Clive Howard

Performance of the Day – THRILLING WATSON
Relishing his first box 1 draw since Xmas Eve, Thrilling Watson led throughout, extending in the home straight to score by a three and a quarter length margin in a BOD and PB of 30.31secs. for trainer Sean Codlin and owner Steve Codlin.
Sean’s small team are currently in a rich vein of form.
The win took the earnings of his August 2019 Thrilling Boris- Thrilling Lola litter to over $100,000,00. An earlier Thrilling Boris- Thrilling Lola litter produced the 22 race winning Thrilling Norman. He produced many BOD performances over Cambridge’s 375m and 457m trips.

Performance of the Day –  EMILY’S PERFECT

She came out from under the lids humming to cut out the a slick 4.51secs. first section, continuing to lead throughout in a BOD 18.32secs. for the Hayley Mullane/ Emma Potts training partnership. The win was her first on our track after being sent to Hayley and Emma by her previous trainers Jean and Dave Fahey, who also bred and own her.
This win sees her graduate to join the talented group of C5 sprinters in the northern region. At just 22 months old Emily’s Perfect has a big future ahead.

Performance of the Day – OPAWA ALBERT.
Opawa Albert headed to the boxes yesterday with a Class 5 assessment next to his name for the first time.
He certainly lived up to the assessment by beginning brilliantly from box 6 to lead the field throughout, scoring by a length and a half from kennel mate Opawa Kirk. His time of 30.51secs. over the 527m trip was the BOD.
For his trainer Glennis Farrell it was yet another win in an open grade track and trip event.
Over the past twelve months kennel runners; Zipping Barty, Zipping Hewitt and Opawa Kirk have had multiple victories in similar races.
