My goodness , it has certainly been cold in Auckland this week. I guess that is what we get when there are clear skies at this time of the year.
It looks as if the NZ Sire Stakes will be scheduled for our meeting on 24th July, we will keep you informed on this.
Wayne Lisle , our maintenance guru informs me that all the parts are now available for a new irrigation system, so we will be able to get that under way and operational well before the drier weather sets in.
This week we have a tidy 12 race card , away at 12.50pm and the last jumps at 5.08pm.The fields are mainly very even and the terminating pick 6 , starting Race7 ,will require some research.
Lets see if we can perhaps get a winner or two early on and build a pot up for that Pick6.
R1 No7 Cool Faces. Just picked up late on Thursday. Should be very close to winning here. No2 Blue Bomber is on debut and has the draw to feature.
R2 No3 Mint As ,looks the bet of the day after a brilliant debut win last week. No6 Portland Peral will not mind being out in box6.
R3 No8 Scotch Mist will really appreciate this draw and would be a very popular winner. No2 Waerenga Nova went nicely on debut.
R4 Even field here. No7 Boot Camp Tiara is downgraded here . No3 Kettle Pot can jump and lead up. Good quinella.
R5 No6 Go Ahead Caller is racing very well at present and was the quickest through this distance last week. No8 Zipping Aubrey could go a better race here.
R6 No3 Great Work needs the rail and can find it here. No5 Our Hotrod was better last week and can be in this.
R7 No7 Drifter Dodge is well up to this class. No5 Starlight Ria is racing well presently.
R8 Really like No2 Blue on Black here. Promising sort and well-drawn. No4 Opawa Arlo is racing consistently.
R9 No7 Portland Opal gets her preferred wide draw , which will assist her chances. No4 Medusa Who ,won at start 100 last week and can go a bold race again.
R10 No1 Black Tea will be very hard to beat from this daw. No4 Zipping Hewitt could provide some value here.
R11 No8 Thrilling Freddy is racing extra well and will not mind the draw. No5 Otaki River will need to jump, but he does have the speed to feature.
R12 No3 Portland Sailor, the big boy always puts in and can go close here. No8 Bigtime Mossey ran second from this draw last Sunday.
