J.R.’s Club Comment & Sunday Selections
The Lantern Festival is all over and we are back to Manukau this Sunday with a 12 race card, the opener pings the lids at 1.20pm and the last is called into line at 4.57pm.
There looks to be a couple of stand out bets , but most of the fields are rather even looking, making for some better odds. Weather looks nicely settled and a pleasant 22 degree high is forecast , so join us for some good racing on Sunday.
We are going to commence another Star Bets Competition , commencing on 15th March. Entry forms will be available this Sunday and it would be extremely helpful if we could get as many people registered this week, to allow a smooth start to next week. The prize on offer , will be $500 to the winner , $200 to second and $100 for third. Rules will be strictly followed to ensure everyone is treated fairly. These competitions are a lot of fun , so be in to chase the money.
We are at that stage that the betting account needs a boost along , so here is the plan for Sunday.
R1 No8 Opawa Ryan ran good time in last win here at looks the one again. No2 Miami Tan is the danger.
R2 No2 Neo has five seconds in a row , but his littermates that have beaten him are not here today. Top bet. No8 Vibe Check can put value into exotics.
R3 No2 Scout Jack is shaping up very nicely and looks the go here. No7 Paradise Point is a strong exacta chance.
R4 No2 Waerenga Josay is deserving of a win and it can come today. No5 Bigtime Central went boldly when fresh.
R5 Good luck with this one. Perhaps No7 Not Quite White, with No5 Wondering Why being a chance also.
R6 No3 Main Character is trying this distance for the first time , but looks highly promising.No7 Altruism can sneak into the placings.
R7 No7 Waiterimu Gem has the early speed to feature. No4 Wow She’s Slow can pop up here .
R8 Even go here. No7 Au Fait has the box speed which is very helpful. No4 Netherton Flyer is going good races and can be dangerous.
R9 No4 You Turn deserves a winning run. No7 Portland Mark is well up to this field.
R10 No7 Waerenga Ritchie can be right in this at ok odds. No5 Portland Nicky has a run in her whilst fresh.
R11 No6 Portland Chica just needs space early to hard to beat . Kennelmate , No3 Portland Coco is capable of being in the money.
R12 No3 Opawa Go Girl may be ready to show form again. No5 Dynamic Kiwi has the box speed and put No7 Fritillary in the exotics, on the down grade.
